What is a hollow core wooden paddle and why is it different?

Almost every paddle on the market today is made from a sheet of honeycomb plastic with various surface materials adhered to it. Our paddle have an all wood construction and are still lightweight which we achieve by making a honeycomb core by CNC milling Basswood. By making paddles this way we remove plastic and other petroleum based materials from use.
